Lexie Liu has shared her explosive new EP ‘Pop Girls Club’ in full.
The future-facing Chinese pop star is back, with memories of last year’s extraordinary EP ‘Teenage Ramble’ still lingering.
A fusion-focussed sound, Lexie’s bold pop electronics flit between English and Mandarin, incorporating all manner of colours and tones.
New EP ‘Pop Girls Club’ is out now, and it boasts contributions from CLASH favourites Isabella Lovestory and BAYLI.
Each twist the central ‘Pop Girl’ motif in different directions, with Lexie saying of the project: “Pop Girl has always been about embracing contradiction; you can feel confident and insecure all at once. These remixes celebrate that idea from different perspectives and hopefully everyone can find a version that speaks to them.”
She adds: “I wanted each artist to have the freedom to reinterpret it in their own way. I was excited to hear what ‘Pop Girl’ sounded like through their lens. Yves, Isabella Lovestory and Bayli all have such distinct artistic identities, and they’re genuinely artists I listen to and admire myself. As a fan, it was really fun to hear their voices inside the “Pop Girl” universe.”
Tune in now.
