Upstate Medical University has been named to the national Epic Honor Roll in recognition of its strategy in using the electronic medical record system.

Of the more than 400 healthcare institutions using Epic, only 43 have earned this designation, placing Upstate among the top 10 percent of performers in the nation. The honor includes a $205,755 grant from Epic.
The Epic Honor Roll Good Maintenance Grant Program, established in 2017, is a recognition program that highlights exceptional use of strategies, lessons learned, and best practices distilled from Epic’s extensive experience in serving well-respected healthcare organizations. Participation in this program enables healthcare providers to attain continuous improvements in patient outcomes, quality of care, workflow efficiency, and financial performance.
The program is based on eight components: ease of use for providers, enterprise data and analytics, financial, health information exchange, infrastructure stability and performance, patient experience, population health, and staying current with Epic’s latest features.
“This recognition is a testament to the relentless dedication of our staff, who work tirelessly to provide the best care for our patients,” said Mary Ann Gross, director of healthcare information systems at Upstate Medical University. “Earning the cum laude distinction on the Version 6 Honor Roll Grant Program is a remarkable achievement and demonstrates our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional healthcare services. We are honored to be among the select few hospitals to receive this prestigious designation from Epic.”
