Issued by:
- The Hon Chris Bowen MP, Minister for Climate Change and Energy
- Denmark’s Minister for Climate Energy and Utilities Lars Aargaard
Today Australia’s Minister for Climate Change and Energy and Denmark’s Minister Aargaard discussed our deep concern over conflict in the Middle East which continues to impact prices, global energy supply chains and economic growth. Both sides reaffirmed the importance of open and rules-based trade and international cooperation to ensure global energy supply chains are kept open, for the benefit of the security and prosperity of all.
Acknowledging the critical importance of energy resilience for our countries, we agreed that energy security will be strengthened by accelerating electrification and the clean energy transition.
We recognise the jobs, investment, economic growth, and reduced emissions the energy transition delivers and agreed it is an imperative to deliver energy security, affordable energy, and economic opportunities for our peoples.
