Eleven Diamond Heels Earn All-ACC Academic Honors

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – 11 North Carolina baseball players have been named to the 2026 All-ACC Academic Baseball Team, the conference announced Tuesday.

The Tar Heels who’s work in the classroom earned them a spot on the list include Carter French, Gavin Gallaher, Caden Glauber, Tyler Howe, Owen Hull, Ryan Lynch, Matthew Matthijs, Cooper Nicholson, Erik Paulsen, Jake Schaffner, and Macon Winslow. It is the second straight season with a double-digit amount of Carolina players on the list. 

Matthijs makes his fourth appearance on the annual list while Gallaher makes his third, both doing so in each of their collegiate seasons. French, Lynch, and Winslow each appear for the second straight year. 

The 2026 Baseball All-Academic Team features 169 student-athletes from the league’s 16 baseball programs. Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one’s academic career. In addition, student-athletes must compete in at least 50 percent of their team’s contests. Scholar-Athlete of the Year nominees must be an undergraduate student-athlete who is an upperclassman and has been enrolled at the institution for at least one academic year with a cumulative GPA of 3.0, including a 3.0 in the most recent two semesters or three quarters.
