On August 11, 2026, Governor Ron DeSantis announced nearly $188 million in Rural Health Transformation Program (RHTP) awards to be administered by the Florida Agency for Health Care Administration (AHCA).
Year 1 Award Highlights:
* Nearly $188 million awarded
* More than 80 awards
* 31 rural Florida counties represented
Nearly 1.2 million Floridians living in the communities to be served. Investments include rural hospitals and clinics, workforce development, mobile health, telehealth, remote patient monitoring, and expanded clinical training.
Florida received approximately $209 million for Year 1 of the federal RHTP. The program is a five-year initiative, with more than $1 billion anticipated to be invested in Florida’s rural health system over the life of the program.
