Cam Skattebo back from injury, ready to give Giants fans more ‘moments’ in 2026 | Latest NFL News, Analysis & Updates

When the Giants began using the rugged runner as their primary back, starting in Week 4, it, along with Jaxson Dart‘s emergence, helped jumpstart the Big Blue offense. It came to an abrupt end with a gruesome leg injury in Week 8.

If healthy opening the 2026 season, Skattebo profiles as the Giants’ lead back under new offensive coordinator Matt Nagy.

Known for his bruising competitiveness and sometimes goofy, high-energy personality — compared by teammate Jameis Winston to Disney’s Stitch — Skattebo doesn’t plan to dial back coming off injury.

“I don’t ever feel the need to prove them right,” he said when asked by Siciliano if he ever feels pressure to feed into his “crazy” narrative.

“But I do think that I feel the need to allow them to enjoy it because I know they get to laugh at it. They get to talk about it to their friends and enjoy the moment. There’s moments that I’m giving to people that people don’t realize that they’re going to look back at and they’ll be like, ‘Holy crap, remember when Skat did this?’ as a Giants fan. I’m going to continue to give people moments to laugh at, moments to think about. At the end of the day, they’re going to know who I really am when this is all said and done and what I’m about and who I like to be as a person outside of football.”
