SALT LAKE CITY — A nation-leading eight members of the Utah football team have been named to the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Watchlist, announced Wednesday by the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame.

The Utah group includes linebacker Levani Damuni, offensive lineman Spencer Fano, defensive end Logan Fano, offensive linemen Caleb Lomu, Michael Mokofisi and Tanoa Togiai, and defensive tackles Dallas Vakalahi and Aliki Vimahi.

The annual award honors the most outstanding college football player of Polynesian ancestry who exemplifies exceptional ability and integrity both on and off the field. The initial list features 81 players from 40 different NCAA Division I programs.

Finalists will be unveiled on December 9, and the award winner will be announced on December 16. Former Utah head coach, Utah Athletics Hall of Fame member and 2025 Ring of Honor inductee Ron McBride is a member of the Polynesian Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee, which is tasked with naming the award finalists and winner.

Each season since 2021, Utah has had at least one finalist for Polynesian College Football Player of the Year, including Spencer Fano in 2024.
