ACC Announces Volleyball Players of the Week

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (theACC.com) – Pitt junior right side hitter Olivia Babcock has been named the Atlantic Coast Conference Offensive Player of the Week, while Pitt redshirt senior Brooke Mosher is the ACC Setter of the Week for matches played during the opening weekend of the 2025 season. Additionally, Stanford’s Spencer Etzler was named both the ACC Defensive Player of the Week and the ACC Freshman of the Week.

ACC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK

Olivia Babcock, Jr., RS, Pitt (Los Angeles, California)

  • Averaged 5.11 kills per set and 6.11 points per set in the Panther’s opening weekend.
  • Recorded 21 kills, five digs, three blocks and three service aces against No. 1 Nebraska on Friday, August 22.
  • Recorded her 1,000th career kill on Sunday, August 24, against No. 16 Florida.
  • Recorded her first double-double of the season against Florida, notching 25 kills, 13 digs, three blocks, three aces and two assists.

 
ACC DEFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE WEEK & ACC FRESHMAN OF THE WEEK

Spencer Etzler, Fr., Libero, Stanford (Coldwater, Ohio)

  • Recorded 4.29 digs per set with 30 total digs in the first two matches of her collegiate debut.
  • Anchored the Cardinal defense to help the team earn their first win of the season and defeat No. 16 Florida.

     

ACC SETTER OF THE WEEK

Brooke Mosher, R-Sr., S, Pitt (Waterloo, Wisconsin)

  • Recorded 80 assists, 16 digs, three blocks and two aces in the Panthers’ opening weekend.
  • Averaged 8.89 assists per set and 1.78 digs per set.
  • Recorded her first double-double of the season against No. 16 Florida with 44 assists, 12 digs, a block, an ace and a kill.
