
Four people were injured after a crash on US-1 near Council Way in Southern Pines around 11 a.m. this morning.
The crash happened after the car fled from a traffic stop in Aberdeen. Deputies attempted to stop the car near the Tidal Wave Car Wash, and the car fled according to the Moore County Sheriff’s Department.
Three vehicles were involved in the crash, and four people were injured.
Firefighters had to use rescue tools to remove the passenger door of the vehicle that fled. The passenger was taken to the hospital by helicopter.
Three others, including a one-year-old, were transported to FirstHealth Regional Hospital in Pinehurst.
Their conditions are unknown.
The third vehicle involved was a pickup truck. The driver had minor injuries and did not go to the hospital.
One lane heading south was closed for several hours.
