TAMPA, Fla., September 5, 2025 – The University of South Florida’s Women’s Sailing team is proud to announce that six of its sailors have been recognized on the Inter Collegiate Sailing Association’s 2024-2025 All-Academic Sailing team. Representing USF are Kalea Woodard, Emma Shakespeare, Catherine Brennan, Kay Brunsvold, Heidi Hicks, and Madisen Hamai.

The Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) strives to highlight junior and senior sailors who participated in at least seven regattas and maintained a cumulative GPA of 3.3 or higher on the 4.0 scale. USF’s honorees reflect strength and depth across all disciplines, placing them among the 261 student-athletes who received this honor for their successful season.

The Bulls placed as one of the most represented programs from the South Atlantic Intercollegiate Sailing Association (SAISA).

Seniors Woodard and Hicks have now earned all-academic team placements in back-to-back years, bringing their experience and leadership to the roster and closing out their careers at USF on a high note. Both were crucial to USF’s success and provided stability in high-pressure competition.

Shakespeare, Brennan, Brunsvold, and Hamai collected the accolade for the first time, helping USF maintain its national presence and continue building momentum for the future of the program.

With six student-athletes recognized, USF Women’s Sailing reinforces its commitment to both academic and athletic excellence, proving they can compete and succeed at the highest levels both on and off the water.
