Arizona Women’s Golf wrapped up the first round of the NCAA Stanford Regional on Monday, finishing the day at 3-over overall at Stanford Golf Course. The Wildcats sit in a tie for fifth heading into Round 2.
Leading the way for Arizona was Nena Wongthanavimok, who posted a 1-under 70 to sit in a tie for 10th. Wongthanavimok carded a strong 34 on the front nine and a 36 on the back, highlighted by birdies on holes 13 and 15 to finish as the team’s low player.
Sara Vitasek turned in an even-par 71, sitting tied for 16th. Vitasek’s round featured birdies on holes 7 and 10 and she made the turn at 34 before shooting a 37 on the back nine.
Kinsley Ni came in at 1-over with a 72, tied for 24th.
Maria Cabanillas and Angela Arora each finished at 3-over par with rounds of 74, both tied for 39th. Cabanillas shot 38-36 while Arora posted a 37-37, with Arora recording an eagle on hole 7 as a highlight of her round.
The second round tees off at 8:00am MST for the Wildcats.
