The Indiana Senate Republicans offers paid internships for college students and recent graduates during the 2027 legislative session.

INDIANA, USA — The Indiana Senate Republican Caucus is offering paid spring-semester internships in its communications, information technology, legal, legislative, page and policy offices during the 2027 session of the Indiana General Assembly, according to several republican state senators.

According to a press release, qualified candidates may be of any major and must be at least a college sophomore. Recent college graduates, as well as graduate and law school students, are also encouraged to apply.

Interns earn a $900 biweekly stipend and benefit from scholarship and academic credit opportunities, professional development, community involvement and networking, said the release.

According to the Indiana’s Senate Republican website, interns work Monday through Friday with the minimum workday of 8:30 a.m. – 4:45 p.m. Legislative interns are paired with one or two state senators and work directly with the legislative assistants. Communications interns work with press secretaries, policy analysts or multi-media specialists in the Senate Communications Office.

Senate internships are full-time positions at the Statehouse in downtown Indianapolis that typically begin with a mandatory orientation in late December or early January.

The incoming intern class will conclude their work at the end of the 2027 legislative session, which by law must end by April 29.
