I figure someone will like this bit of trivia.
In The Mafia, CIA & George Bush, Pete Brewton makes a good case that an airstrip near the Terlingua Ranch in the Texas Big Bend region was used for smuggling during Iran-Contra.
There is no kindle version of the book, but you can try your luck here for a pdf. (I bought a hard copy. It is out of print). https://dokumen.pub/the-mafia-cia-amp-george-bush-1561712035-9781561712038.html
While gathering the story of this airstrip, Brewton interviews a man named Modesett, who is quoted as saying “All right, yeah. I was out of Terramar for a while, then I was back into it for a while…”
So I *had* to find out what he meant by “Terramar”!
From: https://terlinguaranch.com/terlingua-ranch-texas-big-bend/
“[In the late 1960s] developer Great Western Corporation started to purchase [sections of Terlingua Ranch]. Eventually Great Western Corporation acquired about 190,000 acres and changed their name to Terramar.”
Although we’ve seen that Jeffrey wasn’t very original in coming up with names, I don’t have an impression as to whether Ghislane had the creativity to come up with the name “Terramar” on her own.
