President Donald Trump’s approval rating is underwater in all key battleground states, according to a new poll.
The poll, conducted by Morning Consult, found Trump’s approval in the negatives across seven states, all of which he won in 2024 against former Vice President Kamala Harris.
The states in question are Wisconsin (-8 net approval rating), Michigan (-5 net approval rating), Nevada (-3 net approval rating), North Carolina (-3 net approval rating), Pennsylvania (-2 net approval rating), Arizona (-2 net approval rating) and Georgia (-1 net approval rating), according to the survey, which was updated on Tuesday.
The ratings show the difference between those who disapprove of Trump and those who approve.
This is the first time since January that Trump’s approval ratings in the battleground states are in the negatives, according to the poll.
In New Jersey and Virginia, two states featuring gubernatorial elections in November, Trump’s job approval decreased from the first quarter of the year.
In New Jersey, 42% of respondents approved of Trump’s actions, down from 44%. A total of 54% of responders from the Garden State disapprove of Trump, according to the survey. In Virginia, 43% of voters approve of his job performance, down from 47%. A majority of voters, 54%, disapprove.
Senior Fox Business Network Correspondent Charles Gasparino said on the social media platform X that the poll’s new findings have “got to be scary for the White House.”
“I suspect the reason for his low approval is the economy, Gasparino said. “It doesn’t suck, but it’s still not good enough to make up for the lack of purchasing power lost during the Biden years.”
